The Baleno is directly derived from the prototype iK.2 whose data are shown above. It competes against VW Polo, Ford Fiesta and perhaps Opel Corsa in the B segment. Its layout of the lines is emphasized as harmonious expression of power. The flowing water so to speak has formed with its energy the lines, e.g, the transition from the front mudguards to the doors. Nevertheless, the car appears compact. And finally, you want it also to be understood as elegant, all together making out its dynamics.

The Baleno has chances probably rather in the Asian region. From 1995 to 2001 it has ever not been successful despite three different body variants. Now it has a better chance due to the better adapted design and a fuel-efficient new engine. It's the variant, now a bit more frequently occurring, with three cylinders, one liter displacement, charging and direct injection. The displacement thus has shrunk considerably, the dimensions, for example, the wheelbase has increased. 09/15
